I am interested in going, however, I might be bringing my bronco instead. I don't think my wife will allow me to take her car on more than a graded gravel road. Especially in that area. I have tried Eagle Rock/Saran Wrap three times and each time, come home with my tail between my legs. Our last trip was Saran Wrap, and the damage between three vehicles was a front hub, a fitting sheared off the fuel tank, two broken tire beads, and two broken brake lines (both on the same rig). The previous attempt last year we didn't even make it to the trailhead due to a broken u-joint and an overheated rig.

Unfortunately, if the trail consists of more than just a Sunday drive, I'll have to bring the bronco out.

I do believe that we had our LR3 to about the same spot you did just after we got it. We stopped and had lunch at a wide spot where a little spur road split off, just a few miles above the shooting range. There are so many roads up there, you can end up in sedelia too. Probably among many others as well.

My sister in her VW Jetta could do Rampart. I am not going to mess with eagle rock or saran wrap there are too many ways to mess your truck up. The Bull Park road is like 2/5 difficulty those others are like 4/5 or 5/5 lol. I think its a good choice to explore the capabilities of the rover without getting it towed back and replacing broke stuff.

Its not like an official land rover thing bring your bronco or a friend with a toyota or whatever lol I just want to get out do some exploring.

LOL!! I hear ya. I'm just not even ready for Colorado pinstripes or scratched wheels. If I had done the trail before and knew what to expect, I may take the LR3, but this is the nicest vehicle I have ever owned, so I am doing what I can to keep it that way. From what I have seen, I would take the LR3 on gold camp rd and scout for trails worthy of bringing my bronco out.

I am betting the water crossing is likely frozen on Bull Park. It was only a week ago when we did Saran Wrap and the streams and creeks were frozen solid. It appears FS376 is past the trailhead to both Eagle Rock and Saran Warp. Took me a while to find it on Google Earth.

Anyone around the Denver area? Wife and I are thinking of leaving Tampa, FL for possibly the Highland Ranch area with my 2006 LR3. Don't know about the whole climate change for me though.

Highlands Ranch is a nice area. I lived in Denver for 9 years. I'm not a city guy, so I had a rough time, but that area is among the nicer parts of Denver. PM me if you have any questions.

A lot more places to play with your LR3 here in Colorado! I have a great Real Estate agent that helped us find our house here in Littleton, CO. He is even part of the Range Rover family owning a Range Rover HSE. Here is his website with homes all around Denver www.chrisplant.com If you have further question's feel free to send me a PM!

I am actually from Fort Lauderdale and moved to Colorado about 15 years ago. Highlands Ranch is nice but a bit to crowded for me. if you have kids then you cannot do better then the schools there and with Rec center's almost on every corner your kids will be set!

The wife and I and our son live in the Ken Caryl Area in Littleton right next to the foothills. We can be at Keystone Ski Resort in an hour in the S4! lol..

Good Luck to you!

I know I am not part of the Colorado LR3 family just yet but I bet your LR3 would do fine! I actually did that road in my Touareg. No damage just a few scratches from bushes and tree's. Nothing a little buffing cannot fix!

Well I live about 10 minutes from Old Stage rd and the beginning of Gold Camp rd and the weather still looks like it will be pretty good on saturday. Chilly, mid-40s but no precipitation or anything. Even if it is just cruising the dirt road a little, If anyone is in we should meet somewhere nearby.

I'd love to, but will be out of town.

Lets set a date sometime and cruise up Old stage a while. It looks like if you continue west, you pop out onto Co Rd 81. Take it north to hwy 67, and hit hwy 24 at Divide. Might make a nice scenic loop. Maybe drop into woodland park for a late lunch, or dinner or something. We should start a new thread, but think of some open saturdays you have. We could even invite pikes peak rovers as well as any LR dealers in the area. I guess I don't want a huge group, but it'd be fun to have more than just two.
