So I wanted more mids/bass in my logic 7 system and added my previous vehicle's gear into my LR4. I know some people may wonder what options are available so here are the list of equipment and settings that I used.

Equipment:
- JL Audio Cleansweep OEM stereo integrating comp(with SSI component seperately too)
- JL Audio HD900/5 amp
- Focal KRX2 component front speakers
- Focal Access Coax rear(you can use component here but I didn't have any)
- JL Audio W3v2 Sub in powerwedge box(this sub package was with the box...check Crutchfield)
- Obviously, amp kit wires, speaker wires, power wires(use 4AWG).

Setup:
So our logic 7 system uses fiber from the HU to the amp so connecting a system after the HU is not really an option. The Cleansweep and other integration modules are the best option for taking the equalized sound from the HU and removing all the processing, which shapes the sound based on the factory system, and sends out a flat sound signal to the aftermarket amp so you can integrate your speakers.

I had the JL amp put under the middle back seat since that seat does not flip up. I had the Cleansweep and the SSI components installed vertically up against the 3rd row stadium seating floor wall where if a person was sitting in the 3rd row, the components would be behind their foot. I had the installer and a 90 degree wood cover black-carpeted so you can't see it and it's protected person's foot hit's it. I had the cleansweep's master volume knob installed in the headlight switch plate for easy access as you will use it in conjunction with the HU volume knob alot. The Sub obviously, goes in the back where I can move it around.

Speaker wise, I left the center channel and went from 3way to 2 in the front and 2way t coax in the rear door speakers given my speaker equipment. You can go buy a 3way passive crossover like the Focal KRX3s and 2way components for the rear if you would like. The front tweeters were installed in the window tweeter location instead of the mid 3inch factory speaker location in the door. Also, I had the rear pillar speakers disconnected as it seems to bring my soundstage to the rear too much.

Calibration/Settings:
Read and follow the instructions on pre-setup of the Cleansweep/SSI before starting the calibration(default the HU's Tone settings and turn off Logic 7 setting...etc). Here are my calibration points - turn the volume level all the way up on the HU and click it down 8 clicks as that's roughly a quarter of the way down. You click the volume level down another 1 or 2 clicks but you may need to turn up the dials on the SSI to get green lights on the SSI. Once you get green lights on the SI, you now have a full ranged, summed sound from the HU that can next be calibrated by the Cleansweep to remove the EQ processing coming from the HU. Put the calibration CD in the deck and push the calibrate button on the cleansweep.

After a successful calibration, turn the bass level on the HU all the way down since my the HU seems to increase the mid-bass level waaaay too much as the volume level goes up. If you don't, the sound is muddy and not clear. You can turn it up a little after you set your aftermarket amp settings.

Amp Settings:
I crossed over my fronts and rears at around 100hz and sub at 90hz. Crossing over at a higher frequency got rid of my initial muddiness problem and gave me the clarity that I know these Focals are great at. Gains wise, I have the sub level at half way; fronts at a little bit above a quarter way and rears at a quarter of the way. Filter wise, since I had the bass level on the HU turned down and noticed the sub sound was somewhat tied to it, I turned off the low pass filter(I left that setting switch at far left). For the front and rears high pass filter, I had them at 12db, which basically sets how steep the crossover point slope will be(higher the filter slope, the more distinct cut in what frequency level is played through that speaker).

Risks:
Our Harmon Kardon HU's don't show volume level, which you use to calibrate with the Cleansweep, so keep that in mind as you will have to manually count the clicks on the volume control to find "half way or 3 quarters of the way" volume level for calibrating. Also, after the calibration, you will need to always turn the HU volume knob up after you get back in the car since it seems like our stereo turns down the volume if you had it set "too high" before getting out.

Ok, I'm still listening and may fine tune the gains/crossover points on my aftermarket amp but it's pretty much set as I've listened to a good amount of music and it seems to be set for all(rap, rock, acoustic, country...etc...I listen to everything : ) )

I'm not an installer by any means so anyone with more knowledge, feel free to correct my vernacular to help add clarity to this post.

Good luck
