I've done it a few times but not for extended periods of time - like a whole workday. I cannot imagine the suspension or tire was meant to hold such a high percentage if the LR4's (heavy) weight for 10 hours at a time.

Actually haven't you seen the man made rocks/ramps at various Land Rover dealerships that are designed to display the suspension articulation/movement? Very similar to the way this car is parked, and those trucks sit for days/weeks at a time....I am guessing they are also LR approved displays as well...

I think Land Rover is replacing those with displays depicting Rovers in Starbucks parking lots and carpool lanes at soccer practice.

totally acceptable in a Land Rover. Totally embarrassing in an Explorer, Highlander or other similar vehicles.

I do this all the time even when there are available parking spots without a big pile of snow, i never go offroading so thats the only chance i get to enjoy the capabilities of the LR. i dont shovel my driveway neither i just clear my walk path to the car and the side walk. At several parking areas i've had people come to me and say gees i wish i had a truck like yours so i could conquer anything. Not a **** move at all...

Fair enough, but if you think everything marketing does is run by engineering let me tell you that is not true. Nor would I ever assume that because a dealer does something, it's ok. Now, I'm not implying that the tire will blow up, just that that is a lot of load on a tire. Heck, I can feel the flat spots on my tires when my LR4 sits for a few days in the garage. Eventually they warm up and they go away and no harm done. Let's just say if I can help it, I rather have my car on mostly flat ground if it's going to sit for hours on end. No sense in applying odd sustained loading/stresses on the car for no reason. Bushings could see creep, premature wear, etc. That's just me. But yeah, I'm sure the car will be fine. I was merely pointing it out as best practices.
