I keep mine heavily waxed with an old fashioned paste wax.

Restoring kits are a waste of time and money.

So far pretty good, but scratches still happen over time.

For a temporary fix, or if you want to add another weekly chore - WD40.

Odd- my experience says otherwise. Simply removing the surface imperfections with progressively finer wet sanding, followed by rubbing compound isn’t enough. You’ve got to immediately follow up with a polymer sealant/protectant.
I’ve restored several dozen headlights from various mfgs and never had an issue once the protectant was applied. Going on a year now with my restored 2012 LR4 lenses and they still look great.
