Tire options for LR3 SE, 18" rims
I have had the Pirellis for about 2 months. And, I have taken them on a mild off-road trip through Canada. I thought the tires were adequate off-road. And, I find them to be very quiet on highway (in fact, I think they are significantly quieter than the Goodyears). -

My 2005 LR3 SE7 has LATCH on the two outside seats in the middle row. The middle seat in the middle row has the latch on the back of the seat, BUT no lower clips. And, if you use the clips on the side seats for a baby seat in the middle and you forget and try to put down one of the side... -

Hill Decent Noise and Susp Fault
I recently tested my hill descent control on a vacation in Canada. It worked like a charm. And was nearly silent. Not sure why people are hearing grinding. There is no technical reason why there should be grinding. How steep are the descents on which people are hearing grinding? -

Steering Wheel Knock Noise

I don't have rear stereo controls in my LR3, but I understand that if you have them, the cd player may be in use by the rear controls. -

Popping Noise coming from Roof
I have found that when it is raining, or has rained recently (or snow is melting), single, large drops from overhead trees or posts make loud popping or pinging noises on the roof when I'm driving slowly.
