Tire options for LR3 SE, 18" rims

I have had the Pirellis for about 2 months. And, I have taken them on a mild off-road trip through Canada. I thought the tires were adequate off-road. And, I find them to be very quiet on highway (in fact, I think they are significantly quieter than the Goodyears).

New Recalls in system in NA - Being done now

You may be right. The compressor I got before might have just been an old one sitting around. I didn't really make an appointment for that replacement; it was kind of an emergency. The 1 1/2 weeks is for getting some replacement parts. The recall came at the same time that I got a loud...

New Recalls in system in NA - Being done now

Extensive Recall My compressor had failed in June and a dealer in Massachusetts (the state through which I was travelling back from vacation) replaced the compressor and reset the relevant ECU(s). Now, I have handed over my car to my usual NJ dealership for the current recall(s). And, they...

    Baby seats in third row

My 2005 LR3 SE7 has LATCH on the two outside seats in the middle row. The middle seat in the middle row has the latch on the back of the seat, BUT no lower clips. And, if you use the clips on the side seats for a baby seat in the middle and you forget and try to put down one of the side...

    Baby seats in third row

I put my older son in a booster seat back there from time to time. It fits nicely, and he really enjoys it. But to me, a baby seat is a bit different. While it does physically FIT, there is no LATCH system in the rear two seats. [Nor, annoyingly, is there a proper one in the middle seat...

    Dealer annoyance!

I bought mine at LR Monmouth too. I've never been charged anything by them and have always gotten a really nice loaner car; but I routinely have had to explain to them how to fix their own car. Oh well, sounds a lot better than some other dealerships on this (and other) board(s). And they...

Hill Decent Noise and Susp Fault

I recently tested my hill descent control on a vacation in Canada. It worked like a charm. And was nearly silent. Not sure why people are hearing grinding. There is no technical reason why there should be grinding. How steep are the descents on which people are hearing grinding?

Dont fix it, if it aint broken...

Compressor Replacement My compressor (compressors?) on my 05 LR3 SE7 (took ownership 12/04) provided me the amber light of joy on the way home from vacation in the Canadian Maritimes a couple weeks ago, after a week of driving backroads. We called every LR dealership within 10 miles of I-95...

    Steering Wheel Knock Noise

Steering Column bumps I had it happen once on my 05 LR3 SE7. Hit a pothole heading into Brooklyn, NY. Very loud noise and stung my hands. Turns out it shattered a disk inside the column that controls the horn. The next day, the horn began to sound and would not be silenced until the horn...

cd changer playing when listening to radio?

I don't have rear stereo controls in my LR3, but I understand that if you have them, the cd player may be in use by the rear controls.

    Popping Noise coming from Roof

I have found that when it is raining, or has rained recently (or snow is melting), single, large drops from overhead trees or posts make loud popping or pinging noises on the roof when I'm driving slowly.
