    Front Control Arm Catastrophic Failure

Interestingly, my dealer when I was in recently told me to make sure and really wash the undercarriage of the truck after driving on winter roads. I think that's definitely a prudent recommendation in this case, he has a lot of rust in those pictures. Wish they would have given him the parts...

    06 certified pricing

The CPO'd 06s in my area range anywhere from 25k-29k depending on mileage, condition etc. The used car market is hot right now, so prices on the LR3s have gone up slighly from where they were just a few months ago. The CPO warranty covers six years/75k from date of sale. If you find a nice...

    bearing noise comming from motor

Apparently LR is not the vehicle for you. Perhaps you should stick with Toyota or whatever it was you traded in. Quite honestly, stacking that much negative equity with a trade is a bad idea anyways!

    bearing noise comming from motor

No offense, but the Touareg having a soft ride?!?!?! You sure you didn't test drive an Escalade instead?

    Alignment with Coopers...

Yes, the dealer or shop doing your alignment should put the truck into "tight tolerance" mode, prior to performing the alignment. Some shops actually outsource the alignments to a local shop, so you may ask your dealer if they do.

    2008 Pricing

You should be paying around 40k for a 08 HSE demo (1-5k miles) model generally speaking (depends on your locale, sales numbers etc.) If you can get it lower, it's a good deal, but if the price is too low, I'd start questioning it.

Should you hear any air release when you turn the truck off

The passenger doors should stop the self leveling, until they are closed, at least they do in my truck..

    Land Rover funding

There are already incentives and such to purchase a LR, have been various ones through-out the year, including 0% financing among others.

    Making the LR3 trail ready

Ironically I don't have much of anything for mods, I just kept it pretty stock other than a few things Rebadged with the Discovery 3 logo GoodYear Wrangler ST 265-60-18 In the future, probably an A-Frame or another front facing bar with lightkit, and perhaps some skidplates... I like to...

    strange...

If it's under warranty, have the dealer look at the electronics and/or the keys. I've had my D3 out in 4 F and below with no issues what so ever.

    Height Sensor Mod

Ironically, when I put on my new tires, the dealer checked to see if they would need to relocate the height sensors for me, at not cost to me :-) I thought that was pretty damn nice of them.

    tire pressures 42 & 33

The headrest is perfectly fine, and has passed all safety related tests. If you didn't properly size yourself to the vehicle you purchased, that is your responsibility, and you take that risk when you chose to drive a vehicle you may not properly fit in. With that being said, if your whole...

My first week with my LR3

Yup, no worries. I was indeed referring to the external temperature gauge. It will chime when the temperature reaches roughly 39-40F, and show a snowflake logo near the temperature.

My first week with my LR3

quick answers: 1.) Is it possible the temperature gauge display showing the temp below 40? I hear a chime when that happens, although others on the forum have had a wierd beep as well. Do you have the front parking sensors? 2.) No, the fuel hatch doesn't lock on the current models as far...

    GY Silent Armors

I have the SIlent Armor Wranglers, and have nothing but praise for the tire. The snow and ice handling has been great for me. In fact I took the truck up in the mountains 11k feet, through a blizzard to go snowboarding recently. The tires held up perfectly, and felt solid through everything I...

Help on a possible problematic LR3 purchase.

The price is high for an 05 with 46k miles on it. Even CPO'd that should be a bit lower with that mileage... just my two cents..

    LR3 questions

Well perhaps the demand is higher in your area. And in fact 10k off the sticker is still a damn good deal.

    LR3 questions

Yes they will continue sales. LRCG changed hands from Ford Credit to I believe it's now Chase? You may have been caught in the middle of the change. There is no red flag, and perhaps a different vehicle would be a better choice for you? The dealer is in business to make money, and I'm...

    technical differences between discovery 3 & LR3

Don't forget the biggest reason for the name change is actually two reasons. LR feels after a survey NA buyers like number designations more than names. I don't know if I agree with that finding, and second of all the Discovery name is tied to JD Powers reliability surveys etc, so if they...

    handling conering

I just drove up to 10k feet on switchbacks and very winding roads. Handled fine, although in the back seat passengers may experience a lil head toss, if you're in a hurry. Air Suspension was fine in the cold weather. It's definitely not a porsche etc, but handles quite well regardless.

    crash test ratings

Look at the model year of the crash test ratings. IIHS is pretty poor at testing the new LR's and in fact has yet to actually test one. Better data is available via EURO NCAP http://www.euroncap.com/tests/land_rover_discovery_2006/259.aspx

    Land Rover Service is outrageous.

Sorry to hear that. Man there seems to be quite a few craptastic dealers running around eh? Guess they aren't worried about repeat customers or something...
