Troubleshooting coolant vacuum fill failure

Crazy to consider new engine in a 2016 LR4?
Step 1 should be verification of state of engine by someone who knows these vehicles. Then decide. Might be leaky coolant fitting and torn pcv. ( Much cheaper and easier fix)- MellonRover

dreaded coolant level warning
Not scared, I appreciate the detailed answer, it makes a lot of sense. The coolant pipes are all relatively fresh, only 3 years old and 25k miles and I have not seen any coolant leaks. Just the coolant low warning and the smell after struggling up that hill. Looks like HF have both the tool... -

What I did for mine is replaced the coolant parts proactively. With 96k mi on yours, the xovers need to be replaced no matter what. I did the water pump, tstat and some other coolant parts too that often fail prematurely, then the radiator since it had a slight seeping leak. You won't really...- powershift

...quick. Get a UV flashlight, $10. After dark look all around, especially on the front of the engine. Also, at about 2:00 at the oil filter, look straight down, 6" or so, until you see a little triangular space down there. If you are running Rover coolant, anything orange/yellow is a coolant leak. -

Coolant in transmission cooler?
Yes it is possible for transmission fluid to get into the coolant via the plate heat exchanger. I would replace the cooler and flush the transmission a couple times before replacing the transmission- theegovernor

Coolant leak & collapsed top hose when cold?
Leaks can be challenging to find - even with UV. When you change out coolant next time use Rover coolant - it already contains UV dye and then you don't have the possibilities of added UV dye being incompatible with the coolant - (I only use those "universal" dye's if I am desperate.) What's... -

All the problems happening!
Coolant expansion tank and bleeder valve replaced. No error messages and no codes, first time since buying it! Still need to work out the front right suspension issue. -

Electric Oil Pump Control Solenoid on a 2016 3.0l?
If you're doing the chains on the v6 you should probably replace the supercharger coupler and the oil for it while you are at it. Front and rear coolant cross over pipes too.- scapistron

I'd be very concerned about purchasing something known to be sensitive to overheating with an active coolant leak driven by a teenager or young adult. Teenagers and young adults do very dumb things, speaking from experience.- scapistron

Bad ECM or something else?
...really Pushing the engine hard and it’s hot out. Sitting at idle, there’s no requirement for charge air cooling as the SC really isn’t working, and hence the pump will not turn on. If the pump’s not on, it won’t push engine coolant through the charge air coolant and “outer cooler” on the front. -
