RRC 3 spoke wheels on Disco 2

I like the look of the old classic 3 spoke RRC wheel, and was gifted a RRC so equipped, was thinking of putting the wheels on my Disco 2. I will apparently need wheel adapters to do this, but I'm wondering if anybody knows if the 16" rims will clear the brake components on the Disco? Also, if...

How many LR3 were made per day?

The bride and I have matching 2008 Buckingham Blue HSE LR3's, she liked mine so much we found her one so there are never any discussions concerning who gets the Rover today. The VIN's place them less than a 1,000 units apart, so we were wondering how long it took to produce a thousand LR3's to...

    P0116, P0480, p0483 Fan gone beserk

I did replace the alternator, it still runs the fan more than it should but it seems some of our trucks do that. the other day as I was walking a Rangie drove past with the fan roaring away, and a friend with a Rangie has also had the issue for no apparent reason. Seems to run in cycles. Told...

    Where does it go connected?

I don't believe the wheel speed sensors need to be calibrated, I had a broken wire in one and spliced it together, it picked up right where it left off. Height sensors yes.

Transmission "reverse gear ratio invalid" possible project

There a LR3 available on the loval FB marketplace with transmission problems, the seller says that reverse and third gears don't work and it returns a invalid reverse ratio trouble code. Another seller has a transmission for $500. Does anyone know if the problem may be in the valve body/solenoid...

    Vibration and grinding feeling

It sounds to me like the rear diff is going, it's what the wife's LR3 was doing. The symptom you have that she didn't was the vibration felt through the steering wheel. I replaced the diff and that fixed it.

Suspension fault, not hearing the compressor turn on, jumper the relay?

I did find the problem, there was a melted connector in the pigtail between the vehicle harness and compressor motor. To me the connector on the motor side looks underspec for a 20+ amp load, those pins are really small. I cleaned the connector and used some DeOxit contact grease on it. What I...

Suspension fault, not hearing the compressor turn on, jumper the relay?

Our 2008 LR3 4.4 has recently displayed a suspension fault, normal height only, yellow DSC symbol. Right now it's gone down on the bump stops and the compressor isn't turning on, the dealer told us it was replaced not long before we bought it. I don't have a reader for the EAS system but am...

Can a 1993 RR be flat towed?

I've been all over the stupid internet and can't seem to find the answer. There's a 1993 Rangey I've been interested in, this would be a trail toy project. I'd like to be able to flat tow it to the trailheads without having to disconnect driveshafts every time and the weight of a RR and a...

Key Fob Destroyed - Car is not worth cost of key - Alternative way to start?

So, if you get a new key programmed (or do it yourself with the GAp tool which I will get when I'm dragged kicking and screaming) do your old keys still work? We have some that will turn the lock, turn on the LR3 but won't actually start it, and give us a P0513. The dealer provided us with a new...

    P0116, P0480, p0483 Fan gone beserk

today it's a P0485 so that's sort of a new one. It goes days a ta time just fine and then bangs out another DTC. I'm stopping by the local church for some holy water, but not sure if I should put it in the radiator or apply it topically.

    P0116, P0480, p0483 Fan gone beserk

Well she is at the 10 year mark, I am willing to consider that possibility. I'm also thinking of cleaning all the engine grounding connections.

    P0116, P0480, p0483 Fan gone beserk

I've got some really odd issues with the fan on the brides 08 LR3 with the 4.4. It started out as a P0116 temperature problem, then the cooling fan would engage at full strength and give a code P0483. Now it is giving a P0480 and today the idle speed is way up, past 1100 RPMs, after she turned...

    Engine Light

sorry to revive this old thread but I an having trhe same troubles, P0116 and was having P0483 until I replaced the fan. So far it's the sensor in the T-Stat housing, fan and now fan relay.

Still having issues with code: P2135 Throttle/pedal position sensor/switch A/B voltage correlation

I think you should definitely investigate that wiring you mentioned. Since it works sometimes I would think it's correct, the flakiness makes me think the connections aren't what they could be. If they are butt splices without solder I'd think about soldering them correctly.

    P2135 curiousities

The bride's 2008 LR3 developed a P2135, which points to the throttle position sensor AKA gas pedal, so I swapped it from my 08 LR3 and the code follows, OK, butttttttt…. The bride's LR3 has always felt stronger off the line than mine. It's more enjoyable to drive as it reacts to the throttle...

Battery went dead, anything to watch for settings wise?

As it turned out everything was fine, even radio and clock. I guess it wasn't all the way dead.

Whining from the engine Whats going on? What part do I need to replace?

Your engine is set up to scavenge and burn oil and crankcase vapors, removing the oil cap and dipstick allow unmetered air into the engine and cause the symptoms you describe, that is normal operation and not a problem, as long as you don't drive around like that!

The obligatory "Show off your LR3' thread

Hers was the A4, so it's a bit smaller, was getting less fun to get in and out of and the seats weren't as comfy as Rover seats. But that little bugger flies low, it's fast and fun. Oh, and likes to raid the pocketbook a lot.

The obligatory "Show off your LR3' thread

I'm not sure it warrants a whole new thread, but the story goes like this. I wrote off a BMW 525 from a deer hit this past summer, Took my insurance money and starting shopping around. Thought it might be time for an SUV as we have three dogs, a couple kayaks and bikes and sometimes tow a small...

Battery went dead, anything to watch for settings wise?

The battery in the brides LR3 went dead from me leaving the key on overnight during a wheel bearing change, she called from work that all of her settings have gone poof! So other than normal user stuff are there any settings or gotchas I need to take care of? The LR3 started and ran fine after...
