1988 RRC 3.5 to 4.2 Swap???

I may have a chance to get a 4.2 rover v8 and i own a 88 RRC with the 3.5 and was wondering what needs to be done to make this swap happen as we all know the 3.5 is less than stellar. Any help will be appreciated.

Easiest way to do this would be to convert the 4.2 to a carb... vice trying to upgrade the ECU to run the 4.2

Either way, it may not be a cheap upgrade...

Check with ECR for some tips.

My 3.5 is fuel injected why would I want to go carb. The blocks are essentially the same save the front cover Im just wondering about the ecu and how to make it recognize the 4.2.

I believe you have to change the ECU.
