That will work for the 99.5 D2 thru the early 01 D2, the 01.5 thru 03 model does not have the capability to add a CDL without changing out the Transfer case.

Sorry, just read the fact that they say you can add the parts... I am sure you can, but it will cost more than the just picking up a used transfer case up from a junk yard.

that is unless you are in the UK, other wise the cost of parts plus shipping will be a lot.

my guess in price would be $200 - $500, you looking for a 1996 - 2001 Transfer case, IIRC any of these years should fit... just make sure if you get it off of a D2 it has the ****** on the passenger side for the CDL linkage. If you get it off of a D1, get the linkage as well, you will need it.

so a d1 case would fit with minimum problems in my 03 d2, because i went to a local rover shop and he has a wrecked disco 1 from a roll over. The transfer case looks good and he says it works well. I've dealt with this dude alot and he seems reputable. since I've done alot of work with him before he said he will sell it to me for 200. Is it an install i could do myself or should I have him do it?

Ok, I have heard that it can be done, but then I went ahead and called a friend at the LR dealership and he said it is not possible to put a D1 transfer case in a D2... So the suggestion at this point is to find a 99.5 - 01 D2 transfercase.
