Hi all, many thanks in advance for any suggestions...

I just completed both head gaskets on my 2004 Disco. Had the heads machined /valve job done and all gaskets replaced. I had an external compression leak under the LH manifold ( LH from in front of car)...

anyway - finished the job and she started on third hit - great. no oil, coolant leaks visible and sounds good.

Now - after maybe 10 km of driving she is running really rough at idle and throwing 8 or so codes re misfires on cylinder 4, rough road sensor, o2 sensor, mix too lean on bank 2 etc.

Any ideas?

supporting details:
- I changed all plugs to Bosch platinum #6702 but not the wires
- engine likely has residual gunk/ brake cleaner from various cleanings inside the engine hopefully buring off...
- she is very low on gas - need to fix that today
-fresh rotella oil.

again - any help would be appreciated.

Are you still running the factory wires, if so they have got to go to an 8 mm silicone wire like STI or Magnecor.
What are the exact fault code numbers, be specific?

Hey Mike, thanks for the response - will get the list of codes later today. Have to say she was running a bit smoother on idle yesterday after some fresh gas ( shes been sitting for 3 months) and a few more k - CEL still on tho. will post back later.

codes galore

Hey Mike - here are the specifics...

p1300
p0304
p0306
p0302
p1319
p0150
p0174
p0159

lucky me eh? seems to speak to an overall problem.... just to update some background:

-car is running great, good power. still a bit rough at idle tho.
-no more smoke at start-up than normal...
- coolant level isn't dropping, no visible leaks/smoke odd smells.

i am wondering about the new platinums and old leads....

What color are the old wires? You are ready for front 02 sensors based on those codes.
