Does my 2005 HSE have a Tire Pressure Monitoring System? I'm getting new tires put on this week and the place charges an extra $20 for handling if your car has TPMS.

While I'd think the LR3 should have that, I have dropped my pressure into the low 20s or teens plenty of times for beach driving and I've never gotten a low pressure warning. So, I'm thinking...I don't have it.

You?

Yes they do have it but not all. If you have never recieved a low pressure warning when aired down either you dont have it or it is turned off.

My 05 does not have it, I was be surprised if any did. It will be easy enough to tell when the tires are taken off. Either there is a tpms unit in place of the valve stem, or there is not. I'm not sure why they would need to charge a surcharge anyway, just like the airlines I guess.

My 2005 HSE definitely does not have TPMS. 2006 LR3's do have it.

Maybe it was introduced late in the 2005 model year?

correction, my 2006 LR3 V8 HSE does not have the tpms. I think they started adding that feature on the 2007's

Direct TPMS monitoring was mandated for all US vehicles effective 2007, so for sure 2007+ will have it.

Interesting that we have conflicting reports here for 2005 and 2006 vehicles.
