2006 LR3 Primer on underside of hood

I just purchased a 2006 LR3 from a certified LR dealer.

The car is Silver. I was wondering if 2006 trucks only have primer on the inside of the hood? The dealer expalined that they are all like this now, as the heat form the engine was already trashing the inside of the hood therefore they not paint them. In addition the inside of the vehicle has a front warning parking light and button but the front bumper is not equipped with Sensor, (therefore does not work). Is this normal. I am slightly concerned that perhaps the car was in a fornt end collision.

That doesn't sound right. I've got more than just primer under my hood. However, you might not have front sensors, since not all models come with that. Do you have an SE or an HSE? If HSE, it should have the sensors, but if only SE, then it normally doesn't have it, unless it was a paid option.

take it to another LR dealer or a shop you trust.

The parking warning button may look like front, but they would all look alike. The direction of the lines does not mean front. It turns on/off the system, depending upon which you have. My HSE has both, maybe not yours.

Inside the fender wells alongside the engine are not painted, just primed.

Anyone buying a used car should always have it inspected. Never believe a dealer. I would much sooner trust a private party seller whom I could size up myself.
