2012 LR4 HSE LUX Alarm Question

So, I've got the above mentioned LR4. Someone smashed my back passenger door window
and stole a bag without opening the door. The alarm didn't go off.


Is it right, that the alarm on this near $70k car doesn't go off unless a door is actually opened?

I believe you are correct:

The perimeter alarm will sound if:
•The hood, tailgate or a door are opened.
•The vehicle battery is disconnected.
•An attempt is made to disconnect the alarm siren.

Sounds like a useless alarm then. I have the same year and model, guess I’ll be looking into that now to.
