2012 LR4 Whining in steering wheel (inside the cabin)

    Really find it hard to believe this is not coming from right in the cabin, right behind the wheel...one thing to consider is that if it got quieter, maybe it is still the clock spring. Obviously there is a bad batch of something out there...

    Update: Warranty adjuster went to LR to look at rack and pinion. Failure was verified.

    Same issue here for years with my '12. It sounds just like material rubbing in material when the wheel is turned. Nothing more mechanical than that. I have applied some lube in gap between steering wheel and main steering column. Worked for a while and then came back. Not worth pulling everything apart in my situation.
