PulseTech Xtreme Charge can also resurrect most batteries that do not have physical internal damage (shorted cell, etc). I have several of these and they are great both as maintainers, and to recover "bad" batteries. It can take 1-2 weeks to fully restore a badly discharged or sulfated battery. The full-time desulfation is what sets them apart from most other brands (i.e., C-Tek) which only desulfate for a short period of time.

Price has gone up recently, these had been ~$70 for years... now low $80's:

Well, as a followup here. I managed to bring the battery back. I removed it from the truck completely, hooked a recovery charger to it and left it for two days. Put it back in and it fired right up. Been almost a week and no issues so far, so don't know if I caused any lasting long term damage or not by draining it. I'm sure it will die on my completely again at the most inconvenient time.

For peace of mind, I would just go ahead and put a brand new H8 battery in, but that feels unnecessary when this battery is only 1.5 years old.
