2015 LR4 grille color

My wife binned my 2013 HSE and I just got her back after 5(!) weeks They had to swap out the entire front end for the 2015 parts as apparently 2013 are NLA. Grille was silver, but now is black, which I believe is the base LR4 trim color, i.e. HSE and Lux are silver.

Does anyone know if that's accurate?

Correct. Apparently LR either doesn't have or won't furnish the front end for 13 LR4s, and they swap out the entire front end - cosmetic, at least. So I have the '15 headlamps, fogs, bumper, and grille. I think ,however, they missed something and stuck me w.the black base grille. Which actually looks pretty good on my silver HSE w.full tint up front.

I would be mad as hell if they replaced 2013 HID headlights with 2015 . I believe they are different ( high beams are better on 2013).
Why would they use different parts ?

I too think they are telling you a load of crap about LR not making earlier parts.

I would be mad also, I dont want new style stuff. That doesn't seem correct to me, I would ask around. They keep a certain amount of spares in inventories for rebuilds, repair, etc. I find it hard to believe that a year later they would have no spare 13' parts.

The shop (local dealer, not an independent) said mine was the 4th '13 they've had to swap out the entire front end.

I'll take/post a few pics tomorrow.

I am curious how / if the new style LED strips stay lit full time as the new ones do.

I can also see the dealer bilking insurance companies for newer high cost parts too.
