255/65 vs 215/75

About to do new tires. Noticed on door jamb the narrower tire option. What do I gain or lose by going to the 215/75? '00 DII.

255/65 tyre is obviously wider but the lower profile will give you a stiffer sidewall and a slightly more solid ride. Obviously the expense of the tyre will increase, probably less MPG, and higher tyre wear.
