99 Disco 2.

I stopped by Autozone because my service engine light came on. It had a misfire on cylinder 4. So I pulled the cable and it had corrosion in it. AZ didn't have new cables so I cleaned the corrosion out and put the cable back on. Then when I turned the truck on the 4 way flashers turned on (yes I checked the button) and the vehicle will not start. I had AZ run codes and I got a P0560 System Voltage Malfunction and a P1536 idler speed control.

I had them clear the errors but as soon as you turn the truck back on it comes on. I have an aftermarket alarm so I disconnected that to make sure it wasn't the issue. I also tested the battery and it's at 12 volts. It cranks just fine. it's almost like it's not getting any fuel (it has a full tank)

Any thoughts / ideas? I am willing to try anything... I am 300 miles from home and dread having to go to the dealer (although I will if I have to).

Thanks in advance folks.

Lock and unlock the driver door with the key 4 times, then try to restart.

Turned out to be the fuel cut off. I have no idea what tripped it. I pushed the reset button and bam...everything works. Making mental note for the future. If truck wont start and flashers are on...try little button first.

I do appreciate the response though Joey (cheers)

Yeah, that inertia switch is a bugger. Doesn't always seem to require any jarring impact to shut off the fuel flow, either.

Glad you got it back on the road.

where is this grand inertia switch located? I have yet to break down and buy the 170$ manuals and wasn't lucky enough to get an owners manual with my rover, but i'd like to be in the know when my inertia switch goes off... 95 disco 5 spd

On your D1, it's on the passenger side of the engine compartment, mounted to the firewall. There is a rubber cover over a plastic button. If you push down on the top of the cover you may hear a click as it resets.
