it is they seem to be constantly opening and closing

This was happening on mine and I didn't think much of it as it didn't bother me.

The service manger on my last trip in called it out and said there was a fix for it and did it under warranty a couple weeks ago.

Yes I have. With all my trail use, my a/c ductwork got dusty and the balancing valve would become audible, and to the endless delight of my children, would sound just like a fart.

Its servicable. I had mine done by the dealer under warranty so I don't know what all is involved, but the balancing valve is somewhere behind the glove boxes, and can be greased. 20,000 miles later, I still have silent operation.

Its amazing how often that balancing valve operates isn't it?
Mine started doing this last summer, after a lot of offroading. Took me a while to nail down what was happening to cause the sound. I was going to just accept it as part of the charm of a flatulent vehicle, but I guess I'll have them look into it next time it's in.
