abs fuse removed?

I hear alot about people removing the fuse for the abs and was wondering why? what is the benifit to removing the fuse? Can I do it to a 2000 disco? thanks Joe

Removing the fuse on a D1 can be helpful if you are having ABS issues (i.e. pressing brake peddle and nothing happens)

On a D2 if you remove the ABS fuse you will no longer have traction control or HDC... So it will introduce other issues.

would that have anything to do with my brakes locking up.And smoking.I have just put new calipers and hoese on my 1998 land rover v8i.

Don't remove your fuse
No it will not have anything to do with your brakes smoking.

I have replaced my calipers and all the hose and brakes .And it like they lock and im pulling a train.Then it starts smoking.Then i can restart it and it gos back to good.Im a women and dont want to get it bad at the repair shop so im asking what sould i do?
