I don't know a lot about ACE, as I avoid buying them since they are a pain to keep happy and will make lots of noise (this doesn't mean it doesn't work).

Give Nathan a call, his site is in my signature I am sure he can offer advise on ACE.

First, how many miles on the truck and have you ever changed the fluid before? Is the fluid still swirling around in the reservor?
Any Rover shop that has a high end scanner with Rover software, should be able to read the code. You will most likely have a failure requiring a repair before clearing the codes.

You can get good deals on used parts if needed, but you have to find out what is wrong with it by getting the codes read.

Have some look at it, not the dealer and get back to us with the estimate before you jump into anything.
