Alternator work with water???

hey guys...
like the title...
i have an 03 RR HSE
and the alternator were dead... so i purchsed a new one ready to put it on...
the guy was telling me that the bosch alternator work with the water to cool down??
and i was like... wot?? i don't think so.... is it true that the RR alternator work with the water?? and why when they took down the old alternator it seems like have radiator coolant??

Ok, that was new to me:

The alternators used on the Td6 and V8 engines are different in construction, but their principles of operation are similar. The alternator used on the V8 engine is located in a water cooled housing

does it seems like the radiator coolant leak??
or the water cool housing leak??
mine is a 03 Range rover HSE
