ok, im sure you guys are probably flat out sick of this question but i have a stock 96 discovery and it needs tires so whats the biggest tires i can put on a stock discovory w no lift or any other mods. its a discovery sd. 16" rims. and any tire suggestions are also welcome. ive had wrangler mtrs and liked them on a different truck but im kind of interested in some geolanders but am open for suggestions. id like a good mud tire but i live in upstate ny so i need something good in snow and if it snows i get called into work to remove snow so thats also something i need to considder.

245-75-16 is the biggest tire you can run if you do not off road on stock everything. This will rub some if you off road or hit large holes or speed bumps.

I like Bridgestone AT revo's myself, great all around everything tire.

There's probably a tire thread in here but:

245/75/16 no rubbing

Tire selection = no clear answer
We all romantisize about 34" interco super swampers, then we drive to work down the highway or in rush hour or on wet pavement.

****, joey types faster than me

My '97 has firestone destination le of all things & I often drive 65mph on the interstate to get to my construction site which is rocks, wet mud, snow requiring low range .

If these ***** tires weren't on the truck when I got it I certainly wouldn't have bought them.

I've driven 50k in the last two years, I've never been close to getting stuck.

I'm going to try cooper discoverer st (we use the 245/75/16 ht on our 1ton work trucks & they're great)

luck,greg

chicago - wait a day, the weather will change

yes, 235 85 16 will be just taller and narrower than factory... no issues.
