Anybody know the correct windshield wiper torque?

Apparently the right wiper was frozen to the windshield when my wife turned on the wipers. Now the bolt spins and the wiper just moves a little. I'm hoping the nut just worked itself loose. Thanks for your help!

Not really, I would go finger tight and then 1/2 a turn beyond that and see how that works. Good luck.

I just pulled my wiper arms off the other day (had to use a gear puller) and the interface between the arm and the motor spindle has some very small splines.

I just wanted to mention this because I think the arm splines itself can probably be easily damaged since they are aluminum and the spindle appears to be steel.

You need to inspect the splines on the shaft as well as the wiper arm and make sure one of them is not stripped, if it is, you'll need to start replacing parts, in the mean time, tell you wife to check the blades before she tries to use them or it will get expensive.

Yes, there are pics of that exact condition in the above linked post. This was in a TSB I found from AllData.
