If the Navigation voice had a fixed volume adjustment, it wouldn't bother me so much... I could live AUX being a slightly lower level. (I think I'd be smart enough to turn the volume down before switching sources.) But having the voice directions attempt to pop your eardrum while using AUX is just irritating... almost dangerous. So voice assist gets turned off. Ugh.

This is a very annoying feature of the LR3. In my Nissan w/Nav, the system uses a *fixed* volume level for the voice prompt. In the LR3 it varies with the stereo volume. Also, the LR3 settings don't allow for a negative value relationship between the radio and the prompt.

So, I just turn off the voice prompt as well.

In my opinion, the proper way to implement voice prompting is to keep the prompting at a fixed level with possibly using the speed-sensitive volume adjust to compensate for road noise. In addition, the ability to toggle voice prompting on/off should be added to the main map page once a destination is active, instead of being 1 menu level down.

allodial, yeah... I documented that long ago... as have others. If you didn't find it already, I'll look again... just a couple of wires and you are ready to go.
