I know this subject was beaten to deal before, but has anyone found the best solution for increasing the amperage for the IPOD.

I cranked the volume on the IPOD, and when I use it in the car I am usually around 30-32 on the volume control on the LR3 radio.

Thanks!!!

Yup, Belkin kite works great for me. Maybe a bit more bass, but I didn't even notice it until I read it here (amplifier quality I guess). Anyway, it sounds fine. Also, whenever LR gives me another LR3 loaner, its an easy transfer to the temporary vehicle!

The Belkin has no amplifier. It's just a straight line-out from the iPod with an attenuator knob to "lower the level" if you want. You can blame marketing.

I am using competition quality line driver/Eq equipment to boost the output. It is crystal clear and is a big improvement. Not to mention you can adjust the EQ as well. Check out Audio Control line drivers or Phoenix Gold line drivers. They are often on eBay for around $100.

Yes, Echoes, it works well. As I posted in the other thread, it's only 5 ticks lower in volume (with iPod nano's line-out. Other iPod may vary.) This is much better than without line-out. Beyond that, it's line-driver/amp time for "perfection."

I am happy with it. I think that as I get older, The music gets softer.
Years ago I wanted the license plate to fall off. Now, I just need it to sound decent, at a decent volume.

It just kills me that we have to hash all this out with such a tech wonder that the LR3 is. Too bad designers don't monitor sites like this. I would trade for the voice activation system for a decent hook up.
