I want to do an axle swap in my 96 disco, has anyone done it? I can get the rear axle cut and welded to move the diff to the passenger side for $200 and I can get the axles scout dana 44s for $150 so the cost will be less than doing gears in stock axles.

Utjeep.roc Hello, anything is possible. You got your work cut out for you though. Cutting and swapping the axle ends is just the beginning. You’ll have to also have to attach the coil spring perches as well. You’ll have to modify and adapt the dana axle to accept the radius arms as well. Steering will have to be modified as well. Then there’s the issue of wheel sensors, reluctor rings. Not to mention driveline and shock mounts, etc. etc. etc. I’m very familiar with Dana products, and Spicer as well it’s top notch equipment, I’m very fond of their products, they did their homework.

But like I said, you have your work cut out for you.
