Bad mpg

I have a 2000 Disco 2 that I just bought and it's getting around 7 mpg highway. What might be the issue here? It has a roof rack, 2 inch lift and mud tires, but I didn't think this was enough to make the gas mileage that poor. Thanks!!

Welcome to the forum. Sadly the 2000 Disco would only get around 16 on the highway as it was maybe 14 around town... the items you listed will **** fuel economy. Remember you are driving a brick in a wind tunnel down the road. Slow starts and slow cruising will get the best economy if such a thing can be had.

Thanks, Joey! I was afraid of that. 7 mpg is really a conservative number though. It is probably less than that. About what a school bus would average! I just swapped out the o2 sensors thinking that was the problem. Maybe I just need to accept it as you said! Either way, thanks the response!
