Just to close this out, it was the battery. I had the alternator tested by a local imports place and it tested good.
The bad news is the right side tie rod bushings are shot so that is getting sorted with a full alignment.
Other than that the brake pads are down to 5mm so I will need to change those when I do all the fluids in the Autumn.
