A year ago my wife had a complete shutdown driving in snow mode. Like everything was dead. She had to wait for a while (5-10mins) then it restarted and they kept going. told the dealer about it and there was nothing for codes. "no faults found".

so a couple of weeks ago, i'm driving on a cold day, stop go to restart and boom all systems dead. the radio comes back on and try to restart, lights out.

went straight to the battery and the +ve isn't tight. it's kind of a tapered post, so vibration I guess, then the cold loosened the fit. original battery and no one has touched it from the factory. so that probably was the fault that shut her down last year.

ours is a '05 with 50K miles.

I had this happen to me way back when my vehicle was new in 2005. In my case the vehicle was parked outside, lights on, wipers on, engine off, in a torrential rain storm when the system went 'click' and completely powered off. As in dead - totally. I believe I did also get radio back like you mentioned but no ignition etc. (it was a long time ago so my memory is hazy).

After about 10 minutes the LR3 reset and powered up on the ignition and I could drive home - no warning or fault indications. I dropped it off at the dealer and they determined in my case that the +ve terminal connector was loose/cracked and it was replaced.
