blue smoke

hi guys i need help mi whit those problem.I see blue smoke in my exhaust when I start my engine for about 2 to3 second .Happens only on cold start or if car siting for more then 4 h.I have LR3 whit 51000 miles on. Is this anything I should worry about?

Blue smoke is usually oil. You have a little oil getting past either your valve guides or rings when cold. As long as it only happens when you start-up, you should be OK. It's when it's all the time or on idling that it becomes bad.

PS I'd keep an eye on your oil level to see if you can see any loss there.

i will teak may car tomorrow to dealer and leave over night.i don’t know haw big is job to replace valve guides .

I'd like to know what they say.

I see the same thing in my '03 Tundra, but it only happens about one in three start-ups. I don't see much oil loss between my 5K OCIs and I run Royal Purple in it, so I'm not real worried with it.

Nothing on my LR3 but it just barely has over 26K miles on it and I still have the dealership covered oil changes and original warranty.

I call them and i spoke whit somebody from service department,i explain what is happening and did hi have similar problem before.
Hi told me this is first time hi hear LR3 have blue smoke when start,and hi don't know haw long and haw mach cost to fix valve guides or seals .
this is what worries me .

Hi everybody.
i wont to give update on blue smoke.
For last 2-3 weeks i was paying attention an cold start and no smoke at all,but today morning happens again.
I may need go to the shop.

Can bad pcv valve cause smoke by cold start.
My car don't smoke every time by cold start. Is passable if oil drips into intake manifold runners i can see blue smoke seen out of tailpipe.
