As you can see I live in the West of Panama far from a LR dealer. My SDV6 is well past a warranty period so I have been servicing the vehicle myself at the local garage. As my wife uses the car to drive locally I noticed the typical smoke when I accelerated above 2900 RPM when the second Turbo kicked in. I bought the short Turbo pipe kit and arranged to have it installed during this service. I also wanted to do a flush on the ZF gearbox because I noticed the gear change was not smooth, I flushed 5 gallons through and then topped up, each time running the gearbox up to 60 degrees and cycling through the gears. Typical RR oil was not available here so I researched Valvoline Maxlife ATF was suitable. Engine Oil utilized was Amsoil 5w - 40w, Transfer box and differentials Amsoil 75w - 90w. Also I had the CV boots replaced as one was damaged on the left side. Happy to say no more smoke under accelaration, and the gearbox is now smooth as silk. Total cost, labor and fluids $600, except parts.
