The front, passenger side caliper bolts on my 98 disco came totally loose. One of them backed ALL the way out, and when it finally did, I hit the brakes and the caliper rotated upwards into the rim, digging out a nice chunk of the wheel...... fortunately I was only doing like 10 mph when this happened.
I have never had that caliper off, and i've had the truck since it had 20k miles on it. Has 71k now. That side has been slowly leaking gear oil for about a year or so and the bolts were definately wet....but.....sheesh.
Might want to double check those bolts. Mine were 13mm 12points.
