Hi all!

Some of you may remember me frantically looking for answers to problems with my 95 Disco. A lot of people here helped me solve a slew of problems, most notably DiscoMike. I thank you all for a great time on this board.

All my efforts on my baby seems to have been in vain. I had just gotten here singing again. Spent a lot of money to get her back in perfect condition.

But HIS wish being what it is, I got T-***** by a 21 year-old gal who was not looking where her Chevy Blazer was going yesterday. I just got a message from my insurance company's adjuster that it will cost at least $14K in repairs, so they are going to call it a total-loss situation and give me what they called "Actual Cash Value", whatever that means, for my baby.

I am not sure how much I will get and if that will be sufficient to buy me another Disco. If not, I might not be on this board for long. I really hope they do.

Anyways, I hope some of you purists out there do not mind me venting here, being a technical board. Just wanted to take this opportunity to thank all those who helped me in the past couple of months.

Regards,

SKC

that sucks man, I have been there before, what you need to do is find 3 expensive ones on ebay or autotrader.com and they have to give you market value for it, that is what they are going for. My sister just totaled her car and she got over $800 more than the high retail KBB value, at first they offered her half what they gave her and I told her to hold out and find more for sale they ended up giving way more than I expected, at first they will only offer you low KBB for it, you should get atleast mid to high for it, like I said my sister just got more that the very high KBB price and it is only because I told her to do this very same thing, I hope you get this message or already know this information before you settle on a price for your disco, a year ago when I got T ***** in my BMW I did the same thing and got way more than it was worth

I would make sure to provide the Insurance company a copy of your receipts that you spent on your disco over the last year. This way they will no that you want more then they plan to give you.

Remember you do not have to accept there offer, you can fight it.

You can buy my '95 disco for 6500 and dial it in with the rest of your settlement money.
