Mine are blown. I don't want to invest a lot of money in this 2000 truck, as it's only worth a few grand anyway... What are my otions for an inexpensive fix? Used, aftermarket, cats only vs. whole Y-pipe? Any info appreciated. Thanks.

Aftermarket cats are possible, some say it isn't but it is a matter of getting them in there. If both cats are bad it was caused by something. Off roading... or bad O2 sensors.

Aftermarket cats will cost you installed around $150 tops. "y" Pipe new is around $700

My O2 sensors were bad from the beginning. Only one of the cats is bad, as far as I can tell, but could be both. Mechanic said to replace them both. What I need to know is if aftermarket cats are OK. There is a bunch of them on eBay for $35-60 a pop. If anyone had good results with these, please let me know. Also, what about the sensors? Last time I changed mine (1 year ago) they were OEM, but I presume they're dead now. Aftermarket/generic???

AFtermarket cats are okay, the issue is size. Most cats are too big to fit on the one side very small flat cat. (can't remember the side of the top of my head).

O2 sensors. Only a year old, still should be good unless you have very high mileage. Worst case swap front to rear, they are the same and the rear only check to see if the cats are working.
