I've been using this one for years:
Carsoft Diagnostic Tool i930 compatible with Land Rover/Jaguar Vehicle OBDII Code Reader with Multi-Systems

I got it from amazon. I've been using it for years on my '06 and '12 3&4 respectively. It gets a bit more in-depth and i have had success resetting a bunch of stuff and avoiding the trip to the shop. On the other hand, it has been helpful when I get a code that tells me I need to take it to the shop and once I get there, having an idea of what is wrong helps me get the right work done faster (and cheaper). I have also had multiple battery issues that have caused quite a few codes. Good luck.

Have you tested the alternator?Check cold voltage and then start the vehicle and recheck to voltage, my R3 and R4 have both shown random codes with a bad alternator giving out fluctuating voltage.
