Is it possible to clear the check engine light without a obd tester

There is no way that I am aware of without the obdII reader on the 96 and newer vehicles.

Try disconnecting the battery.

If it is OBDII on the Land Rover, the only thing disconnecting the battery may do is cause the SRS light to come on...
