cleaning engine compartment?

Hey all,

My Discos pretty oilly and dusty under the hood. I want to get it all cleaned up so it looks better and so that i can detect any leaks easier. What is the best method to use. I don't care about shiny, i just want it to look clean.

I use a presure washer, but some don't recommend that method... just avoid the major electrics.

I use a diluted mix of Simple green & water. Spray it on everything (except electronics), let sit a minute or so , start the engine & rinse off with a garden hose.

I usually use a pressure washer as well. I just wanted to know which areas in particular to be carefull around. Thanks for the ideas folks!

Use caution around the coil pack and the MAF, other than that most things are far game.

I dont like hittin it with the pressure washer on top, but on the bottom go all out, just be careful around the rotors, so you dont blow an abs sensor out of whack....also, its a good idea that if you do spray it down heavily, to maybe not drive it for a day so that everything can have a chance to dry out properly....or just go wild with it and see what happens, prolly be like Joey and have no issues!

I never said I didn't have issues, I just ask many questions..... I tend to just figure them out.
