Has this worked for anyone or I'm just that dumb? Is there some kind of trick or format I need to follow? Here is what I did.

-Created a folder in the USB stick
-Copied 12 tracks from a CD into the folder.
-Selected "Portable Audio" and then "USB" on the touch screen
-Inserted USB stick....the display is now showing "connecting USB" and then I get an error message....."error reading usb".

The CD track file format is CD Audio Track. Please tell me where I'm going wrong here.

Mine works, I use it all of the time. I only have music track on it in MP3 format and there is no other data on the drive. What else do you have on the drive?

I have nothing else in it. Only 12 Tracks in a folder. Did you put your music in a folder or just directly onto the USB stick?

Mine got formated like it would be on an ipod, music in seperate folders for each artist, album and title. I think it's a bit hard to navigate like that as you have to drill down in each folder to find the song you want.

Did you save your files in WAV by chance?

You need to save files in MP3 format in order to be played via USB. CDDA format that is originally on audio CDs can't be played directly in this manner.

I think you're right.....I'm going to give that a try. I do have it in CDDA format.

THAT DID IT ! I copied the tracks from CD to the USB in the wrong format. I used Windows Media 10 and ripped the CD to MP3 format and all was fine. Thanks everyone!

Good to hear ... the thumb drive method of MP3 files is easier and cheaper than leaving an iPod in the car.
