Converting freelander 4x4 to 4x2

Bad news my ird has packed up, I have been fortunate to get a reconditioned one but with no rear output pinion. Has anyone ever changed to 4x2 by removing the propshaft and what was your experience?:bandit:

freelander 4x2 remove propshaft

hi removing propshaft from ird unit and rear diff will give you better fuel, less tyre wear, cheap repair and as long as you don,t go off road a better drive hope this helps

hi tracy004 your recon i r d unit is with out the flange where your propshaft goes is that right! if so how could it be a recon unit ?
