I have a 1999 Discovery Series II
A month ago I noticed a coolant leak when the engine would run when the block was cold. The leak ended up being the timing chain cover gasket. That was after I had replaced the water pump that wasn't faulty.
Then I have put about 1000 miles on since the repair. Then the other day my land rover overheated. I then popped the hood and there was coolant everywhere. When I finally got it home I was trying to investigate where the leak was coming from. When I checked the endplay on the BRAND NEW waterpump it was excessive. The water pump I had bought from Advance Auto Parts. I now have to replace the water pump yet again. Also when the water pump bearing decided to go my fan must have hit a pulley or something because i have a few chunks taken out of the viscous fan. So I get the honor of replacing that too. It is only $100 more dollars for just the fan

you may get a used one cheaper (fan that is) from "Will Tillery" at www.roverguy.com

Also never buy parts that you want to last for a rover from Advance... Napa maybe, but not advance.
