I just bought the Disco 1 a couple of days ago from an elderly man and want to keep it as a family car, with that being said there are a "couple of things" that need to be looked and taken care of. Below are some of the problems and I would like to know what to do.

First. My Steering wheel has play in it not too much but it is enough to take caution driving, any direct fixes to this? I'm thinking it's the pitman arm but, I could be wrong.

Second. The Speedometer lights have gone out on one side and I'd like to replace them with LEDs. Any idea what size bulbs are in there to begin with?

Third. When I put the vehicle in reverse I hear a loud "clunk" not all the time but most of the times, sometimes the same sound happens when going into drive. Should i get the gear box checked or the transmission?

Fourth. What setting should I use the 4x4 gears to be gas efficient? At the moment I have it on low, if thats even correct way to say it.

Finally. What special maintenance should be done, I have already done a full tune up but i want to be thorough and not get any surprises later on.

Thanks in advance.

For someone who knows little or nothing about Discos, you don't be in much of a hurry to reply for some help. Be advised, taking it to a dealer will cost you a fortune and most likely won't be done correctly.
