cruise control code 1590

After replacing the cracked vacuum hoses, my cruise control does not work . The switch lights up. Using my pocket OBDII reader the code that appears is P1590. P0590 is: CRUISE CONTROL MULTI-FUNCTION INPUT B CIRCUIT STUCK.
What the heck is that??

Not sure what this means, other than a possible speed sensor of sorts.
