Hello!

1991 D1

I have a clunking noise when I release the clutch, it's the front driveshaft. This I understand is a common problem and not even worth fixing? What is worse, there is also two clonking sounds when shifting up, first when I put the stick in neutral and then again when I put it in gear. It's worst between 1 and 2, 2 and 3 and less between 3, 4 and 5. No noise when shifting down. At the same time I hear the noise, I also feel a light thump in the stick as well as in the clutch. What can this be? Syncing bad? Low oil level?

Best regards

May even be bad U-Joints or in the case of a 91, a bad Roto-flex on the rear driveshaft that looks like a rubber dougnut... if it is torn, this could be your issue
