I ran through a water puddle, like I always do and the Dash *Red* Brake light came on for a few moments.

What sensor on the underside of the Rover triggered this event?

Or...

Is it something more sinister.

First check to make sure you are full of brake fluid, other than that it was probably just the water.. no big deal.

Fluid was full and light went away. This was the first time for this light and did not know whether I was into another series of searches/repair/replace until problem was solved.

Normally on a D1 you will have more issues with the ABS light. The brake light is a normal indicator of low brake fluid or the hand brake has been pulled.
