I've looked at some photos of you crazy guys doing fun stuff with your LR3s. Some of them show you crossing water that is higher than the tires. I've never driven in water that deep.

My question is..

Does all that water flood into the floor and gas pedal area? Are the doors somehow waterproof?

I think the manual tells you the wading depth. But yes the doors have inner and outer seals and you can get into a depth close to where the air intake vent is without any problems.

Manual? We don't need no stinking manual!

I'm not picking it up till Friday. So no manual yet.

Still got my Exploder which I'm pretty sure would leak like a sieve if I went in water that deep.

Hehe. I think the standard depth was around 3 feet in off road height.

Rated at 27.6" wading depth in offroad height. Which is a good ways up the door.

The amazing door seals keep it out. At the land rover experience I put a defender into ~30" of water which filled the floor. When I took the disco (lr4) it did not let any water in.
