So I finally got around to changing the differential fluids for the first time since I've owned my discovery. Anyways, the front diff oil was completely black and the rear was a watery green milk. I'm assuming water got in there. Anyways I replaced them both with some Lucas stuff and it seems to be running nice now. Now if I can just find the darn transfer case I can do that next.

Yep. I notice a difference already in the smoothness of the ride. The old oil stinks too. I think the back diff oil was rotten lol.

How many miles on your Disco? If your fluids comes out sort of milky or watery, you have a water leak that needs to be fixed, if it comes out black you have burned up you bearings and or gears and it will fail very soon. Are you aware that all the fluids, ATF, Brake, power steering and diffs and t/case must be changed every 3 years or 30,000 miles.I hate to tell you this but you have driven that tuck into some serious problems.
By the way, what oil exactly did you put in your diffs?

Anthony, have you even crawled under and looked at your diffs? You have 2 plugs, one to drain it the other to refill it using only 85/140 gear oil. You also do the same to the t/case, 1.8 quarts in each diff and 2.2 in the t/case.
