Hello Rover Family, I just became a new member, Belgian national, working/living in United Arab Emirates and driving Land Rovers for the last 25 years. (something must be wrong with me!)
Currently I am driving my third Disco from new and I do not know why I am still driving it. It is a V8 3.9l -1998 model, on the road (not at this moment) with just over 100.000km, replaced two water pumps, overhauled the steering pump, bearing belt tenser worn out, Inlet and Outlet manifolt got cracket, body rust away around windows, leak from the front engine bearing and a leaking fuel tank. (how many cars do you know with a cracked fuel tank) Yes! a Disco have it all.
As this in not enough, yesterday my gearbox do not shift any longer if the engine is cold. As long the temp. is cold the gear remains in first. I replaced the filters without success. What now, the Rover Dealer who like.s me very much told me to open the gear box and that is going to be a wallet draining issue. Sharing any similar experience/advice will be appreciated.
Regards, Francis
