This summer, I installed a set of the RS sliders. When I first put them on I noticed that the rubber strip hanging along the bottom edge of the door doesnt make contact with the slider, there is about a half inch gap. Maybe not a big deal, I dont think (or at least I hope) this gasket is not critical to sealing water out. But now mud gets up beyond that seal, so opening my doors and washing the upper part of the slider during a wash is now standard procedure. Maybe I need to re-mount the sliders further out? Not sure that's possible. Anyone else notice the same thing?

Normal. That mud wiper on the bottom of the door is not really a gasket. There is another, real gasket under the door that seals up against the slider and forms your water tight perimeter.
